Lamongan, A proud achievement was achieved by Muhammad Nur Aqil, a Biology undergraduate student at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan (UMLA), who won third place in the Fighter Class D category at the Pasuruan Championship. The championship was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia on September 26-28.
Aqil's journey to this achievement began with his commitment to regularly attending Tapak Suci pencak silat training. He diligently studied and refined the various basic techniques taught by his teachers and coaches. He carried out each training session with dedication to prepare for his best performance in the competition arena.
However, Aqil's journey wasn't entirely smooth sailing. Upon entering the competition arena, he encountered a problem when he was denied entry by the officials at the outer table because they deemed him uncalled. According to information from the internal officials, Aqil's name had been called three times, leading to his disqualification. This situation was a difficult and stressful time for Aqil.
Nevertheless, Aqil didn't use the incident as an excuse to give up. With a strong mentality and an unyielding spirit, he persisted and continued his struggle until he finally won third place in the Class D Fighter category.
For Aqil, participating in this championship wasn't just about achieving success. More than that, pencak silat served as a means to develop himself, build self-confidence, and train his mental readiness to face various challenges. He dedicated this achievement to his best efforts, making his parents, coaches, and alma mater, Muhammadiyah Lamongan University, proud.
Muhammad Nur Aqil's success is proof that behind every achievement lies a process, trials, and valuable lessons that shape the character of a true athlete.
