Lamongan – Amelia Kartika Reza R., a sixth-semester student from the Biology Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA), achieved a proud achievement at the 2025 East Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov Jatim). Amelia represented Jombang Regency in baseball and won a bronze medal (third place).

The baseball tournament for this year's Porprov was held in the Greater Malang area, specifically at Cakrawala Stadium, Malang State University, from May 28 to June 5, 2025. The Jombang Regency baseball team demonstrated a brilliant performance throughout the tournament, and this medal achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all team members.

In a brief interview, Amelia expressed her gratitude and pride for being part of the winning team: "Alhamdulillah, I feel proud to be part of the baseball team at the Porprov yesterday. Just being able to participate was an incredible experience, let alone coming home with a medal and placing third—that was an incredible bonus and a testament to everyone's hard work."

Amelia also added that the preparation and competition process provided valuable experience, particularly in terms of teamwork, discipline, and the spirit to keep rising despite challenges.

She hopes that through her participation in this event, baseball will become more widely known among the public, especially the younger generation in East Java. The immense potential of local athletes needs to be supported with adequate attention and facilities.

Amelia's main motivation for participating in this championship is to bring pride to her parents, the region, and her beloved campus. "Hopefully, this can be the first step to further development, both in the world of sports and in life. We want to continue to strive higher, bringing pride to our parents, the region, and Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan," she concluded.
