Tuban, May 24, 2025 — Students from the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan (UMLA) have once again achieved a proud achievement in the 2025 National Pencak Silat Championship held in Tuban Regency. David Alvin Arizal, a Biology student at UMLA, won first place in the Men's Adult Team Arts Category, a feat that demonstrates his dedication and discipline in this traditional Indonesian martial art.

In the championship, which attracted participants from various universities and pencak silat schools across Indonesia, David and his team displayed movements filled with unity, precise technique, and the noble values of pencak silat as a national cultural heritage.

In a post-match interview, David revealed that his success was inseparable from his mother's encouragement and prayers. "My motivation to compete is my mother, above all. Because she once said, 'If you have doubts, remember your face,'" he said. David also stated that this achievement is not the end of the journey, but rather the first step towards becoming even better.

"I want to be better than I am now. It's true that I won first place, but if I'm careless, failure could follow."

David's success not only brings good reputation to his personal life, but also brings honor to the Biology Study Program and Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan as a whole. This achievement is proof that UMLA students are capable of achieving in various fields, both academic and non-academic.
